16: Toxins,chemicals and environmental sustainability

Fiona here: it was interesting to see the links clearly articulated between our personal health and the health of our world. Obvious really!!

===================================================================================

QUESTION FROM FIONA: I have read that the chemical dioxin, which is in many substances, in particular plastic water bottles, can cause breast cancer when it leaches into the water from the bottle. Can you comment?

GUIDES REPLY: There is far more of this substance in your environment than any of you realise. The immune system is required to take this out of the body. The creation of a tumour is a result of the immune system not functioning as well as it could have done. It would be helpful if this chemical was cleared from the environment. You are beginning to see the proliferation of the formation of cancers in aquatic life and this is attributed to a number of chemicals, this being one. Let us put a caveat around that fact: we do not say this so that we instil fear into everyone or so that people stop drinking bottled water or stop using any packaged foods. Be mindful however. Ask yourself, “Do I really need this?” whatever it is you are purchasing. Not from a “Do I really need this substance that may give me cancer” perspective but from, do I really need this at all?

There are many similarities between the environmental movement and the world of alternative health. In the years to come this will become more and more pronounced. You are seeing more options that can be easily put into place, reusable water bottle these come in a variety of materials. You can use different methods of collecting, gathering, processing foods using different materials. It is helpful to think about what you are doing with your food. Rather than thinking, I shouldn’t have this for my health, consider the environment. This will take the vibrational fear factor out of the choice to reduce your consumption of foods that are contained within these materials. Have we answered this clearly?

FIONA: Yes. Following on, what is the best way to accelerate the link between concern for our health and concern for the environment?

GUIDES: What a marvellous question! This makes us feel like dancing. You are not separate from your environment. As your environment fails so you fail. This is a larger question than you have realised.

Taking care of oneself, the expansion of this is taking care of the immediate environment, of food going into the body, of one’s home and how you are looking after your home, or not. You are an expansive being. You exist within form and then you exist within layers of form. What do we mean by this?

You exist within a body. Those of you seeking to heal the body may only be concerned with this level. In actual fact you exist within the body and you also exist within the home. You also exist within the environment and on the earth. As you affect one you affect the others. This has been thought inconsequential to health but studies of toxicity will change your minds on this in the years to come.

Where you look at the impact on your way of living on the environment around you and how that then begins to impact you. Dioxins are one of those examples. Simply know that those of you who wish to align themselves to health and sustainability on the level of form, of body, of form for home, of form of earth will open up ways of being to make that a possibility. We hear many questions on health and in our expanded network on the environment.

Take care of yourselves, your homes, and the earth. This will help you take care of the earth, your homes, and your bodies. You are all connected and everything you do comes back to you. This is on the level of energy, on the level of health and on the level of ill health. Do you wish to take this further now?

FIONA: What are the top practical pointers for people?

GUIDES: Think of the theory of sustainability and apply it to yourself, not just on the level of health, on the level of form that you exist in. Be sustainable in your home; be as sustainable as you can in your impact on the environment. This will have the natural consequence of helping you sustain your health. Even although you may have a diagnosis of cancer or someone you know may have a diagnosis of cancer, you are still healthy. You are healthy until your moment of passing.

15: Living with an open heart or how to be happy....

Fiona here: the snake referred to towards the end of the article is one I saw coming out of the sacred waterfall towards me, in Brazil, as I was bathing in it. A snake is often held to be a symbol of transformation and healing. The waterfall, near to the Casa of John of God, is a healing and sacred place full of many nature spirits and very high energy.

Please post any questions you would like to to ask in the comments section as I am running out of questions!

=================================================================================

FIONA: Many people talk of living life with an open heart. What does this mean?

GUIDES: In a practical sense it means enjoying yourself. It means not shirking the responsibilities of life when they need to be looked after e.g. not ignoring your tax return, but it means finding joy in completing your tax return. There is much misunderstanding in this area. How can you find joy in completing your tax return? There are many ways. You can play music, you can reward yourself afterwards, you can ask for help, you can give it to someone else to do- that may feel joyful for you, you can complete it yourself without any help and achieve a sense of satisfaction.

Living with an open heart is, in essence, living your life head on and accepting it. Not in the way of a martyr but in the way of a grateful student. Have we made sense? We may continue on this in the future. We are happy to do so.

Happiness, like health, for most people, is something they expect another person to give them. This cannot be the case. The source of happiness and the source of health are within. There are only aids to happiness and health that can be sought in the outside world, the world that is outside of your own physical form.

We will take an example for you, Fiona. For you, seeing something, as wondrous to us as a snake could have been terrifying yet now you choose to see it as a symbol, something completely different. Hence the importance of keeping spirits up. When the spirit is kept up it is easy to keep the heart open and therefore to meet life as it happens for you in a positive way. The snake was always just a snake.

FIONA:Thank You.

14:Surrender & the power of the mind

Here is the next information download from the guides. Please post any questions you may have in the comments section and join as a follower. Fiona

====================================================================================

FIONA: Many people speak of “the secret“ to spontaneous remission from cancer, being when you completely surrender to God.

Can you shed any light on this?

GUIDES: Yes, it is akin to death, a death of the living, before a life is taken. It’s a complete surrendering, a faith, a trust. An absolute knowing of what will be, will be. A facing of mortality.

This is terrifying for many people, particularly to those who have no profound faith in God or a Being, or a force such as God. You have felt this. Are you prepared for God to take your life? When you say “Yes”, the surrender process happens and you are able to get on with the business of living. It is a good way of being. You often have images of a grim reaper that simply appears. In some ways, this process is becoming friends with the grim reaper and understanding there is no fear from this, simply a transition. From a physiological perspective the relief at not having to play God with yourself is so immense it can, occasionally, and we say occasionally, create cataclysmic change within the body. This can be known as a spontaneous remission.

What do we mean by playing God?

Thinking that you actually have the deciding factor of whether you die or not. Life is best lived in combination with a faith in a force that directs and guides all living and dying processes. This does not take away any of your ability to make choices, except for the final one. This can be devastating for some people. For it is as if they forget that at some stage they will have to exit. Not this time, not this way, they may say. Do you understand this? Getting in touch with the body and having faith in the cycles of life is a very good combination for restoring greater levels of health. Do you wish to ask us more on this?

FIONA: Yes, you mentioned it is about having an absolute knowing that there is a higher power. How does one achieve this?

GUIDES: For those who do not have this already, this is called the process of surrender. You cannot get this as you can a packet of a food substance. But you can fall on your knees and say there is something that controls the cycles of the sun, the cycles of the moon. There is something greater than me. It is my time to meet this and whatever this means for me. Can I trust that I will be ok?

The truth is that there is only ever the mind to tell you that you cannot ever be ok. The sun and the moon, the stars and the flowers, do not ask these questions. But you must. For all of you who wish to relieve your own suffering- there comes a point where you feel like you may break. If this is the path that feels like it is ahead of you: Allow yourself to break. We will be with you. It feels like a death but you will not die from this process. You will have an opportunity to be reborn into a more peaceful state. If this will mean an improvement in health: so be it. If it will not: so be that too. Remember that in the end, death cannot be cheated. Also, remember, you are only exiting a form; we really are not that bad!

FIONA: You mentioned that it is the mind that gets in the way of our having complete trust. Do you have any practical ways to overcome this?

GUIDES: Be mindful of the small voice within. Let it be heard by you. Within the medical sphere ask the questions that are burning within. Do not lose your mind in this process. Question and question the answers until there are no more burning questions left within. Your body is yours. Many of you often feel like pin cushions, or slaves to tablets and times, and hospitals. This is not the case. Start by listening to the voice and allowing yourself to ask the questions that are within. This is a good place to start.

FIONA: But many of us do feel like pin cushions and at the mercy of tablets and hospitals. Why is this not really the case? Can you elaborate?

GUIDES: It is not the case as they are not being tortured, free will has not been taken away, and they are not strapped to a bed and told they cannot move. This is medicine that is chosen. All of you who, at times, feel at the mercy of medicine, understand that this is a choice you are making in the hope that there will be healing from this. So be thankful for the options that are there as well as your ability to make choices. You are not being tortured or having your life taken away from you by Drs.

Keeping ones spirit alive to help keep one’s mind clear during treatment times is very important. Ask yourself: What would make me feel a little bit happier today? Give yourself that. This need not be anything strenuous or involving great monetary value. Simply an afternoon movie, a book, a smile, a breath of fresh air. Keep your spirits up. Work to keep your spirits up. Your suffering will be greatly alleviated from the mind. All of you have the option to talk to us. We listen and listen willingly and with kind ears.

DID I REALLY CHOOSE THIS ????

FIONA: To what extent have our souls chosen the events that unfold in our lives, e.g. trauma?

GUIDES: The system, this is the eternal part of you that is married to the temporal part of you, that will give birth and will then die, chooses its overall shape and form. Temporarily, you have been born into a life that will give you a disposition for physical, mental, emotional traits. We would also say energetic traits, although this is less well understood. We are talking roughly about genetics. These tendencies will mean that you will gather to you all of those experiences and events that will give you an opportunity to expand beyond them.

Now, the burning question: does someone choose to be born to suffer cancer? For some the answer is yes, and for others no. For those where the answer is yes, it is not cancer specifically, it is physical adversity. This can take many shapes and forms, either in illness or in trauma. Remember, for those of you who have the diagnosis of cancer and wish to heal themselves, it is about coming back to life. Moving away from a mind dominated state of being without love, appreciation of the self, without joining in the brilliance of the world and the living forces around you. Regardless of the adversity, we would say, seek at all times to join in the wondrousness around you, the harder the experience is the more difficult this is, and we know this. On some level you are capable of achieving such, even the small ones. This may not be enough to create an entire physical healing for you in this lifetime. This is nothing to be ashamed of; sometimes things are simply too tough.

It is no different from trying to run a marathon. If it doesn’t feel good, running a marathon is the biggest chore that you can imagine. If it feels great and will stretch you in a positive way then your energies, your life force, will expand towards it. Life is not to be a marathon, rather more of a journey whereby you move through experience after experience. For some of you, experience is being born into a particular family, having schooling, a first job or further education, then a career and then potentially a family. For others, there is no particular order. But this is not the nature of reality; that is the expectation of society.

Your real experience happens as you move from one moment to the next. It can seem so small and insignificant that you might not recognise the consequences of small choices that are made along the way, such as, to take time and smell the roses. Many of you were not brought up to take time to smell the roses, you were taught to pull yourself up, work harder, achieve, or you were taught to expect nothing. Therefore, you had no role model that allowed you to experience the wondrousness of life. But in the words of a great master, “Look at the lilies of the field, they do not toil”. You need not toil regardless of what is happening to you. This goes back to the question that was asked, how you can surrender with chronic pain. Regardless of your situation, accept it. It does not disconnect you from the world around you. It simply is your connection to the world around you. But it is not the only connection. You can sit with pain, you can sit with an amputated leg and you can enjoy. You can enjoy the fresh air, the breeze, sounds, sights, people, the beating of your own heart.
Have we answered the question?

FIONA: Yes.

GUIDES: We feel we will come back to this one for experience is a big one and for many of you the experience of cancer is overwhelming. Yet there are small moments of experience happening all the time, whether you have a diagnosis or you do not, whether you have a tumour growing or shrinking.

12: Dealing with pain

Background: I was asked to pose this question to the guides by a friend of mine who has had a diagnosis of bone cancer. Thanks for the question!

FIONA: How can one feel surrendered to chronic pain?

GUIDES: Yes. This is a difficult one. It is similar to: how can one be peaceful when one is suffering? Let us look at the somatics of this first. Not everyone will understand the concept of “surrender”. To some it means giving up; to others, as in this case, it means acceptance. We would prefer to talk about: imagine trying to have a good day when the clouds are very dark, it is pouring with rain and you are soaked.

You are not just your body. One of the teachings that your friend who has asked the question is most interested in, is where the mind interfaces with the body. He is nervous that if he moves his mind too far from the body he may just cause his own exit.

The mind processes experience and it labels it as good and bad e.g. when the body feels light and airy, this is good. The acceptance of this leads to further states of elation and further states of feeling light and airy. When it experiences a state that is commonly known as negative, such as chronic pain, the mind labels this painful, difficult, hard and it takes the focus off the mind and it absorbs it in the pain. It circulates the focus of the pain in and around the pain.

This has the unfortunate ability to almost extinguish all parts of your life force so that the whole of one’s being feels like it is one big ball of pain. Now, we are not talking about taking away the pain from the body. We are suggesting that there is a way that the body, in its painful state, and you can co-exist.

How does this happen? The same way that someone who is handicapped can smile. It is possible to be in great pain and regain a sense of humour and a sense of optimism. However, we understand it is also very difficult. The nature of pain is to draw the mind, to draw all of those around you, into the pain and it is akin to a negative vortex.

We would ask those of you who are experiencing pain to allow the body to become as comfortable as possible. One of the great misnomers and difficulties with chronic pain is that it is stressful in itself. This causes the body to tense which exacerbates the pain. If you can learn to relax whilst in pain, we will call you “little Buddha” but, you will also experience a lightening of being. This will help free you from what feels like a life of perpetual misery. Over time, it will alleviate the worst effects of pain from the body.

The body will go through its cycles; at times it will be in a state of elation, at times it will be in a state of pain. But the body will always be looking to get itself back to health. Take comfort in that and help it out. Help it out by getting comfort and, as much as you can, taking the mind’s focus from the pain onto something which feels a little easier, this can be a film, birds, a conversation, a candle, a meditation. This is difficult for the pain will always pull the mind back but it can be used as a practice and over time this will be of great help for all of you who suffer pain, at times.

One of the most difficult pains to alleviate is pain in the head. For this is where the pain is directed into the mind. This requires, as is said in modern idiom, “lying in a dark room”. Give yourself what you need at all times. You will have an instinctive knowing of what will bring you relief. The relief may seem trivial to the effort when you are in pain but if you choose it, you are choosing to move towards life affirmation and thus, greater levels of healing.

Have we answered this question, Fiona?

FIONA: Yes, thank you. I have one more question relating to this. What about the role of pain relief medication versus using the techniques you have mentioned?

GUIDES: This should all be utilised, there is no need for suffering.

FIONA: What about when this medication has side effects such as drowsiness, such that one cannot function properly within their family?

GUIDES: For some, Fiona, the drowsiness will be a welcome relief to an alertness of living with chronic pain. For others, where the pain is of a lesser degree, it will be a difficult balancing act. There are those who do suffer with being able to function in day to day life and tolerate their pain medications. Keep seeking new approaches and feel what is right. Give the body what it needs. You will always juggle.

Ask yourself: What does your body need this time? What do you need this time? You may find you are fighting yourself. Your body needs rest yet your mind is telling you to complete a “to do list” or, must not let someone down or, be a soldier. Always look to harmonise yourself with the body. Remembering, that you are in union with the body. You are neither your body nor is your body you, but you work in union.

11: Cancer medication & chemotherapy &side effects

Background from Fiona
This was and remains a painful session I had with the guides (Zoe channelling). It probed many of my fears, upsets, views and prejudices. I was pretty grumpy and upset towards the end and the guides were pretty straight talking in their responses to me!

START

FIONA: Many people taking medication for cancer for both the short or long term get painful side effects and symptoms. What is your advice?

GUIDES: If this is the best that is given, and you believe it will help you, then understand that whatever you put into the body will have an effect on the body. Do not allow your spirits to be brought down. For example, those who choose to try mangisteen would soon find it has a huge laxative effect. That is cause and effect. You eat more mangisteen and have to spend time on the loo. If you consume pharmaceuticals you will experience an effect on the body.

Humans only wish to experience positive effects and wish to eradicate the negative effects- this is not always possible. But whilst there may be unpleasant effects, and what might seem downright unkind effects of medication, remember why you are taking this.

Do not allow your mind to cause further suffering by dwelling on these side effects. Embrace the possibilities they are presenting to you. You are already ingesting them and they are already at work within your system.
Have we answered this?

FIONA: Yes. I have been wondering whether the harsh effects of chemotherapy, such as losing hair, feeling ill, vomiting, etc, are some way of us wanting to punish ourselves.

GUIDES: We would love, in the future, for medical studies to include a mental and emotional response to a drug. This would be very difficult. All that is ever important is the relationship between one’s self and the drug.

On the diagnosis of cancer one feels like a failure, then one’s option, when one already feels like a failure, is to take what feels like poison. You are on to something, Fiona.

However, for as long as this is the best that is available then, for those who wish to extend their lives and have a window of hope, this is the best option. How you respond to this option mentally and emotionally is crucial. We see that there are now support centres for those diagnosed with cancer, coming to terms with the words, “you have cancer”. We applaud this. This is what is needed. You did not give yourself cancer. You did not do this to punish yourself. This was not a conscious choice.

Similarly there are a tiny amount of you who would choose chemotherapy or other forms, as a way to punish yourself consciously. We often hear, from the hearts and minds of those going through this: “I deserve this”. “This is my worth”. “This is it now”. This saddens us a great deal. There is no need for punishment; this is simply the best of what is available. The medics understand it is crude. However, it is the best of what is available. Nothing is ever willingly given to someone as the worst option. Medicine is not an instrument of torture although for some it feels as if it is.

Therefore, we say, come to terms with your diagnosis as quickly as possible. Understand the mechanisms that have been happening within the body. Boost the life affirm-ment in life and you will cope, with not only the diagnosis, with not only the medication, but the within the body living as well. After all, that is what you are here doing. A diagnosis and forms of medication is all part of living at this moment. Coming to terms with this will help you immensely and certainly aid the recovery that is available to you.

FIONA: I don’t believe that chemo is always the best option.

GUIDES: That is your opinion.

FIONA: But you said it is the best option available to people.

GUIDES: You wouldn’t. Look at your relationship with it.

FIONA: But if you look at the statistics, for example, for those with early stage breast cancer the percentage increase in survival with some types of chemo for some patient groups is only around 3%. This is for a therapy which may cause other physical issues to the body which may then take years to recover from.

GUIDES: Then why not die immediately? Why bother speaking to a Dr?

The fact that there is a mechanism, you say a 3% chance of help, is a wonder of life. Just because it does not come in a pleasant bottle does not mean that it does not say love and life within it. We have yet to meet many people who enjoy chemotherapy. Having an appropriate mental and emotional response to the medicine of choice is helpful. What is the medicine of choice? That is the medicine of choice you are offered from your practitioner. You always have the ability to say yes or no to it.

You are at a different stage now, Fiona. That 3% would have meant more to you then than it does now.

FIONA: I know someone who was killed by chemotherapy. Her cancer was early stage. What are your thoughts?

GUIDES: That is an individual case.
We can say that for many an exit clause is given prior to greater suffering. When the time of passing is near there needs to be a mechanism to take you from where you are to where we are. That can be a bee sting; that can be a car.

All of you: be careful of where the mind and the heart wish to rest on the subject of medication for you. For as long as you are taking medication be proud of the fact that you are affirming to yourself that you want something better than where you are, and work towards achieving that.

Lift your hearts and minds to the possibility of creating a better life. Medicines and foods were not put in place to make your lives worse, to take a bad situation and compound it even further. But to give you light, hope.

We leave you with this for today, Fiona. We ask you to look at your personal relationship with your medication.

10: Which diet should I follow?

Dear Readers, I would love some of your questions to ask the guides. Please post them in the comments section. Thanks!

Chanelled session

FIONA:
Diet is often considered to be a key element of healing from cancer. However, much of the information on diet is contradictory. What do you think?

GUIDES:
Diet is a way to support the body, choosing food as a way to boost the immune system and as a way to calm the system is very helpful. However, often, some of the diets that are chosen have a shock affect. We don’t see these as necessarily helpful. Often, the thought that one might have cancer is so scary that it is avoided. The diagnosis of cancer is always a shock, this has a destabilising effect. To then try a route of healing which has a shock value can also have a destabilising effect. We would suggest that the work is done to bring you towards enjoyment of life. If you mean do we think you should eat celery sticks instead of chocolate bars, we would ask you to look at your relationship to the celery stick and chocolate bar.

FIONA:

How should one balance giving the body good nutrition with ensuring fun in one’s life which could include eating chocolate and cake?

GUIDES:
When someone is diagnosed with cancer they will then often find out about dietary methods for healing the body. Diet programs that are promoted as beneficial may be extreme for an individual because it in no way resembles what they have eaten before. This may be a shock. If it is this will destabilise the system.
We see no, if little, benefit in this.

If you choose to try this, then try it for several days to ensure that you at least get a feel good factor, a boost, a cleansing of the body. Food is not just a mechanism for providing nutrition. Food is a way that you express yourself with yourself. To deny yourself is to deny the life force within. This does not mean that we advocate that you eat a chocolate cake a day either. Some would rather eat a celery stick.

There has been a saying around diet for thousands of years: “moderation in all things”. We suggest that is a more healthy way. Unfortunately, often, when a diagnosis is given or treatment commences, one’s sense of self becomes lost and one does not know which way to turn. Turn within. Do what feels right. If this is lost to you and you do not know which way to go, try things. If they affirm life for you, then continue. If they make life feel worth less than before, then desist. Is this clear, Fiona?

FIONA:
Yes. I understand this; however, there are many studies on the healing qualities of certain foods, diets and supplements such as superfoods, algae, and wheatgrass proving that they have a beneficial effect. How does this work?

GUIDES:
Belief! They believe they will do better on them. They believe these superfoods will heal their body. Therefore it is a life affirming choice. We are not saying that, if a group of people who did not have a diagnosis hanging over them were to switch to a raw food diet that they would not feel better. Within the body there would be potentially an increase in cognitive function, in life force, but these are people who would willingly follow this diet. To give this type of diet to someone who has, in your language, an addiction to sugars or carbohydrates would shock the system further. Some might say but this is what is needed. At times we might agree. However when the system is destabilised giving further destabilising factors cannot be helpful.

For those who believe there is benefit in algae, in other forms of foods, eat this food! Ingest your faith and belief in this food. This will help you. For those who eat it and hate every mouthful- desist. Does this make sense, Fiona?

Food is not simply molecules of nutrients; you have a relationship to food. It affects you physically, emotionally, mentally. If we could just take some cells out of your body and take them away from your mind and your heart, then who knows what spirulina could do. But we cannot do that; you cannot do that. This is why throughout time the concept of a balance was recommended, so there is enough of one and enough of another, for a human being to feel good, on all levels.

Whilst there are information pockets on the benefits of nutrition we also hear the cries of those who follow these regimens and do not get better. Hence our desire to complete the information loops on this matter.

Those who do not get better from their mangosteen often turn to us in despair. We use terminology such as spirulina and mangosteen as examples, not as specifics. Both were also created by God, just like you. There needs to be a rounding of information so that the hopes and dreams do not go down avenues that prove fruitless. Blame is not left at the door of those who seem unable to beat their cancer.

We think you will get lots of comments on this one, Fiona.
