8:Practical tips for healing

Background to call: Fiona wants to know how best can she heal her body

FIONA
We touched on this next one before. How does one ensure that that the mind doesn’t direct the body to do more than it can handle? How can I tell when it is happening?

GUIDES
The body doing more than it can handle is a misnomer in some respects. The body is capable of moving via instruction until collapsing. The question is really: How to know when body has done enough and you do not want to miss the opportunity for maximum healing potential.

Let us describe this further: you wish to have enough life force and energy within the body to carry out day- to- day life and to facilitate levels of transformative healing. We expect this is the case for all of you coming to this site. It is likely, that in times gone by, you have simply worked the body until it was tired and the body’s self healing mechanisms were not a consideration. Many of you will know that when a system within the body is stimulated, such as the digestive system through eating, resources in the body are diverted to that process. Yet, you can still get up and move, you can eat on the go. So the body has an immense capacity for working with movement. But this is not what you wish to know about.

Ideally, you are looking to do the minimum of day to day chores; getting up, preparing food, and keeping a store of energy for healing. For those of you brought up to eat at a table, to sit at a table and let your food digest, you will understand this. There needs to be a time frame that is similar to sitting and resting and letting the body heal. It is akin to basking in the sun. Or enjoying the breeze on your skin.

For those not brought up in a home where body functions and giving body functions time was valued, and indeed indoctrinated, you will need to learn this if you wish your body to heal to its best capacity. This is a fine line. For those who were brought up to give your body time to digest its food, understand as you need to give your body time to heal. You can formalise this, you can make this your healing time.
Many of you will do this anyway. Give yourself time. Perhaps life of old has stopped for you now. Perhaps you have given up work, like Fiona, and the focus is on healing. If the focus is on healing, then let the focus be on healing. If you focus on healing, and run around, and stress, and treat your healings, approaches to healings, and mechanisms for healing, (such as Dr's appointments, complementary approaches, perhaps meditations or book reading etc), you must give this to yourself fully; otherwise it becomes a chore.

This is a great subject and is not just for those who have a diagnosis or have had a diagnosis or know someone with a diagnosis. It is giving you the opportunity to understand that you can give yourself what you need. But you need to give it to yourself. Kidding yourself that you are doing something when the mindset hasn’t changed is not really giving yourself something at all. That is the theory.
What do we mean by in practice? For those of you who have been brought up with giving the body time and space for healing, this is wonderful. Continue to do this. Indulge in this. Practically give yourself time and space to pursue that which has a positive, relaxing effect on you, guilt free, stress free, without worry, without concern.

For those of you for whom that is not possible- perhaps it is not possible for you to give up work, perhaps your worldly commitments make it impossible for you to change much of life, you may have children, you may have others who are dependent upon you. Yet, you still need to make space to heal. This can be done. This can be taken in 5 minutes.

How do you do this?

You sit. You sit in your car or in a form of transport, even in the bathroom. You sit and open up to healing. Breathe in healing. Giving yourself space and time to heal. Five minutes. Take this throughout the day. This cannot be given as another chore. This must be taken and experienced as something positive.

How?

You simply sit, have your eyes open or shut, and have a thought to open up the body’s systems to healing. Take a deep breath and trust that your body is now healing. There are forces in this world who may wish to help and should you wish you may call upon them.

Time these 5 minutes and stay as positive, open and receptive to healing as you can. Allow these to be the equivalent in feeling terms in as basking in the sun or the breeze on your skin. Then return back to day- to-day life.
Do you have any further questions on this, Fiona?

FIONA
Could you elaborate on the bit about, “There are forces out there that will help you heal?”

GUIDES
Yes, whatever your framework is, that is beyond you, that is benevolent, call upon it. Your framework is your belief system.

FIONA
Can someone feel, within these 5 minutes, the healing taking place within their body?

GUIDES
Yes, trusting. You not be able to feel a change but you can trust a change is occurring. E.g. some may trust the digestive process others may need a gaseous exchange to experience the digestive process. But it is still happening whether you feel it or not. For healing- especially with a diagnosis, such as one you or someone you know may have- trust is crucial. You must trust that the body is healing. For it is. It is always in a state of repair. But for some of you, you have lost the faith in that. You have lost faith in the body. You think your body has turned against you. Take this time and stimulate the body’s healing mechanisms. This can be done with a thought and asking for help to do this, should your framework allow this for you.
